HGH community, we are asking for your help.
As you are likely aware, there have been cases of COVID-19 reported among many youth sports programs including hockey, some causing pause or elimination of the season. Although there have been no reported cases among HGH, we feel that we have a collective responsibility to do all that we can to protect our girls and prevent the spread of the virus. We are and will continuously look at ways to improve on that effort.
We are asking parents, players, coaches to work together to help ensure the safety of our players and implement these practices in an effort to do so.
Parents, guardians please DO NOT drop players at rinks unless they are fully dressed and are wearing masks. If needed, please continue on into a parking space in the parking lot to allow for your player to dress in a responsible socially distant manner. Girls should be arriving to practices and games 10 minutes early fully dressed with masks on prior to advancing to rink entrances. Players cannot congregate in groups inside or outside the rink as has been occurring.
We are asking that our HGH teams make every effort to avoid the usage of locker rooms at all rinks regardless of home rink rules.
We are encouraging our players to wear masks at all times, including on ice play time.
Skate guards are a helpful way to help limit your player’s time inside a rink that may not allow for adequate social distancing.
If a member of our program has been exposed to a COVID positive person (universally defined as close contact with a COVID positive person) regardless of their own negative test, it is the expectation that continued participation is dependent on following the 14-day quarantine guidelines.
We are aware that many of these measures require extra time and planning; we appreciate your willingness to invest in the safety of all the members of our HGH community and to the viability of their season.
